Ukrainian Robotic Grenade-Launcher Turret Enters Serial Production
In an exciting development in the defense technology sector, the Ukrainian startup Frontline has officially launched the serial production of its innovative Buria robotic turret system. This cutting-edge system is specifically designed to be used with the US-made Mk 19 grenade launcher, marking a significant advancement in combat robotics.
Frontline’s representatives shared the news with Militarnyi on 3 January, revealing that several elite Ukrainian units are already in the process of receiving the Buria systems. Among the distinguished units set to benefit from this technology are the Wolves Da Vinci battalion, the 3rd Assault Brigade, and the 101st Security Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff.
To ensure the seamless integration of the Buria turret system into military operations, Frontline is providing comprehensive service support and operator training. Numerous Mk 19 grenade launcher operators have already completed training on operating the system in both tripod and ground robotic complex configurations. Operators have the capability to control the system remotely using a controller or laptop, with targeting functions that can be achieved through map-point selection or coordinate input.
Meeting Military Demand through Expansion
As demand for robotic remote-controlled systems continues to rise within the military sector, Frontline has already secured orders for the first quarter of 2025 through direct military unit procurement. To meet this increasing demand, the company is actively expanding its production capacity. Additionally, Frontline has announced plans to integrate the turret’s targeting system with reconnaissance drone data, allowing for real-time coordinate transmission during operations.
The Buria robotic turret boasts a range of impressive features, including remote control and targeting capabilities at distances of 50-100 meters. Equipped with sophisticated targeting software that includes an integrated ballistic calculator, the system also features a recoil compensation system, a 32-64 round ammunition capacity, and weighs approximately 47 kg. Operators have access to multiple firing modes, including single, burst, and programmed burst, as well as switchable stationary and gyro-stabilized operation modes.
Advancements in Combat Robotics
The introduction of the Buria robotic turret represents a significant leap forward in combat robotics and defense innovation. With a focus on enhancing operational efficiency and accuracy while minimizing risks to personnel, this system embodies the cutting-edge technology being developed within the Ukrainian defense industry.
Frontline’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of unmanned combat systems underscores the growing importance of robotics in modern warfare. By leveraging the latest advancements in technology, Frontline is not only enhancing the capabilities of the Ukrainian military but also setting a new standard for defense innovation on a global scale.
