russian-sland-tactics-suicide-missions-in-dnipropetrovsk-oblast

So, like, there’s this thing happening in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast that’s like, totally turning into a hot mess. According to Armiia TV, Russia’s so-called “island tactic” is like, totally failing and resulting in a bunch of unnecessary deaths.

Apparently, only a tiny piece of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, probably less than 5%, is under Russian control. Most of the region, including the main city of Dnipro, is still in Ukraine’s hands.

Over by the Dnipro River near Kherson, Russian soldiers are being sent on these crazy suicide missions. They cram into boats and are shipped off to try and take over small islands—without any backup, supplies, or even a way to get back. And surprise, surprise, most of them don’t make it. And those who do are left with a simple choice: surrender or meet their maker.

This dude Serhii Bratchuk from the Ukrainian Volunteer Army says it’s, like, a “typical algorithm” used by Russia. “They get sent on boats—if they even make it. Then they’re just left there. No supplies. No way out. The best thing to do is surrender,” he says.

Since December 2024, Ukrainian defenders have, like, destroyed more than 300 Russian boats in the southern area. It’s like they’re playing a real-life game of Battleship or something.

Despite Russia’s big push, these missions are turning into total disasters. Ukrainian forces are taking out the boats before they even reach shore.

And get this, the Russian military is now going all out in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast to try and grab more land before May 9th, which is Victory Day in Russia. It’s like a big deal for them, you know, commemorating their victory in World War II.

Capturing new territory by this date would, like, serve a bunch of purposes for Russia, explains Taras Myshak from the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of Unmanned Systems.

But things aren’t looking so great in Kherson Oblast either. Even with all the terror Ukrainian civilians are facing, the Russian soldiers seem to be struggling. Two of them straight-up disappeared in Nova Kakhovka in April, supposedly after getting caught looting.

And then, out of nowhere, 12 Russian soldiers decided to ditch their uniforms and run away. Rumor has it that one of them wasn’t even Russian, but some foreign dude recruited from Transnistria.

“Desertion is a clear sign that the Russian army is, like, falling apart,” Bratchuk adds.

Man, it’s like these Russian commanders are shooting their own soldiers in the legs for hesitating and forcing the wounded ones into dangerous missions. And while they managed to sneak into Pokrovsk temporarily, they didn’t last long.

And to top it off, the Russians are leaving Kherson Oblast without any basic services. It’s like they’re just bouncing, leaving the place in shambles.

Anyway, that’s the latest drama unfolding in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Who knows what’s gonna happen next, right? It’s like a real-life soap opera out there.
