So, like, Julie S. Davis, the US Ambassador to Cyprus and now the Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine, just landed in Kyiv, as confirmed by the US Embassy on Monday. This whole thing is happening as the Trump administration is all about trying to end Russia’s war in Ukraine and make nice with them after signing that big Ukraine Reconstruction Fund Agreement last week.

The US Embassy in Kyiv was all like, “Ambassador Davis is here in Ukraine at this super important time to keep doing what President Trump wants, which is to end the war and make sure Ukraine is all peaceful and prosperous.” They seem pretty stoked to have her around.

Apparently, Davis got picked by President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to take over the embassy after Bridget Brink, who was appointed by Biden, stepped down. She’s gonna be in charge of the US diplomatic mission in Kyiv while still being the Ambassador to Cyprus. That’s a lot of responsibility, if you ask me.

The State Department spokesperson, Tammy Bruce, was like, “Davis is essential in making peace happen and rebuilding Ukraine. She’s gonna work super hard to end the war during this really important moment.” Basically, they want her to make America and Ukraine besties and keep them safe and strong.

So, like, Washington and Kyiv agreed to share Ukraine’s natural resources recently, which is supposed to help Ukraine recover and stop Russia from being all aggressive. Davis is a total pro at this diplomacy stuff, with thirty years of experience under her belt. She’s done all sorts of important jobs before, like being the Special Envoy for Belarus and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western Europe and the EU. She even was the Deputy US Representative to NATO. Talk about impressive.

In a statement, Davis said she’s super honored to be in Ukraine during this huge moment in history. She’s gonna stick around Kyiv until they bring in a new ambassador. Good for her.

Kyiv Post has been reporting all this news since way back in 1995. They’re like the OG English news source in Ukraine. They reach people all over the world, making them Ukraine’s go-to voice. Cool, right?
